Prior to an inspection, a homeowner should do the following:
Inspect all rooms for peeling and chipping paint. Don’t just check bedrooms and living areas. Check the basement, the attic, the laundry room, etc.
- baseboards
- doors and door frames
- walls
- ceilings
- enclosed porches
- painted cabinets
- radiators
- window jambs/frames
- window sills, wells and both sides of the sashes
